Working primarily in drawing and ceramic sculpture, Alana MacDougall explores ideas around the body, communication, and the abstract nature of medical imagery. Her work focuses on the fragility of the body and the psychic impact of the familiar becoming foreign. This often takes the form of constructed systems that are simultaneously vulnerable and enduring.
